MEET THE TEAM

LUCY GRAY
FOUNDER/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
STREET DANCE TEACHER
CHEERLEADING TEACHER
Lucy began dancing at the age of three and started competing across the UK from the age of eleven, developing strong discipline, resilience, and a solid technical foundation. With over ten years of experience in street dance, she has developed advanced skills in performance, musicality, choreography, and athletic execution. She is currently in her third year studying BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Hertfordshire and will begin an MSc in Physiotherapy in 2027. Her academic background allows her to integrate sports science principles such as biomechanics, injury prevention, and physical conditioning into dancer training. Lucy also began cheerleading in her first year at university, competing at university competitions and performing at halftime sporting events. She later served as Vice Captain in her second year and Captain in her third, while also coaching the team and leading training sessions and choreography. She has assisted and choreographed for dance companies across Hertfordshire and London performing arts schools, gaining experience in creative direction, mentoring, and performance preparation. As the Founder and Artistic Director of Choreo City Dance Company, Lucy is passionate about creating a supportive environment where creativity, performance quality, and dancer wellbeing come together to develop confident, resilient performers.
Ben is a London-based choreographer, ballet and contemporary dance artist, and educator whose work reimagines classical ballet through contemporary and African diasporic perspectives. Working across stage, film, education, and community practice, they create choreographic work that centres cultural storytelling, representation, and innovation within the evolving landscape of British dance. He trained at the Rambert School and Arts Educational Schools London, and a scholarship graduate of American Ballet Theatre, Ben has built an international career collaborating with leading cultural institutions including the Royal Opera House, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, and English National Ballet. As Founder and Artistic Director of Ballet Soul Company, Ben's artistic vision challenges traditional narratives within ballet while expanding opportunities for dancers from underrepresented backgrounds. His choreography blends classical technique with contemporary theatricality, producing work that is emotionally driven, socially engaged, and globally relevant. Alongside his creative output, Ben is an established educator delivering professional training, outreach programmes, and international workshops across the UK and Kenya. His practice connects elite dance training with community access, nurturing the next generation of artists while advocating for a more inclusive future for ballet. Ben was also a guest teacher at the Royal Ballet School Chance to Dance. Through performance, choreography, and education, Ben Love continues to position ballet as a living, contemporary art form shaped by diverse voices, histories, and cultural experiences.

IRUSHI MEEMADUMA
BOLLYWOOD TEACHER
Irushi is a 21-year-old dancer whose passion for movement has shaped much of her life. She trained in Sri Lankan traditional dance for 18 years throughout her school journey, building a strong technical foundation rooted in discipline, rhythm, storytelling, and cultural expression. Through years of performances and competitions, she developed confidence on stage and a deep understanding of how dance can connect communities and celebrate heritage. At university, Irushi expanded her performance experience by spending two years as a cheerleader, during which she refined her stamina, sharpness, synchronisation, and teamwork skills. Beyond formal training, she has independently explored hip-hop and ballroom, challenging herself to learn new techniques and adapt to different musical styles. This blend of classical training, performance experience, and self-driven growth has made her a versatile and dynamic dancer. Today, she specialises in Bollywood dance, combining expressive storytelling, high energy, and technical precision to create choreography that is vibrant, empowering, and accessible to all levels.
